My city of the future - Smart City Bad Belzig 2030

Brandenburg (Germany)

Project description

"My City of the Future" is the title of an initiative of the state of Brandenburg and at the same time an opportunity for the city of Bad Belzig. The future of Bad Belzig is to be shaped in a participatory process involving citizens, local politicians, tradespeople and civil society actors. Experience from previous concept phases has shown that a broad-based and open dialogue is needed to find jointly supported solutions for the important issues in the city.

The aim of the project is to find out the concrete needs of the urban society and to jointly develop innovative solutions that can be implemented in the short, medium and long term. Three focal areas have been identified as particularly challenging: (I) a vibrant city centre, (II) local mobility and (III) sustainable neighbourhoods.

The participation process is facilitated in two different ways within the framework of the state initiative. On the one hand, analogue participation formats, such as workshops, street stalls or (non-contact) creative actions, address and concretise issues directly on site. On the other hand, a participation platform provides a permanent online platform for all those who care about the well-being of their city.

seecon Ingenieure GmbH support the alliance "Our City of the Future" by advising, accompanying, preparing, implementing and evaluating the analogue participation process as well as on the participation platform CONSUL.
