The European Energy Award (eea) is a programme for implementation-oriented climate protection policy in municipalities. It is process-oriented and serves to save energy, use energy efficiently and increase the use of renewable energies. Building on various activities in the field of energy efficiency and climate protection, the city of Falkenstein decided to participate in the eea in 2018. The eea is the quality management system and certification procedure with which the municipality's climate protection activities are recorded, evaluated, planned, controlled and regularly reviewed in order to be able to identify and use potentials for sustainable climate protection. The municipality's energy team is supported in the implementation by Rene Werler, seecon Ingenieure, who is listed as an accredited eea consultant. The successes of the communal energy work are not only documented, but also awarded.
