European Energy Award (eea) Tempelhof-Schöneberg

Berlin (Germany)

Project description

Berlin has set itself the ambitious goal of climate neutrality. Therefore, the state of Berlin supports the introduction or continuation of the European Energy Awards® at the district level. In this project, the district of Tempelhof-Schöneberg is supported in the implementation of the eea certification process.

The European Energy Award starts with the establishment of an eea team and the implementation of a start workshop. An analysis of the current situation is carried out, including the appointment of responsible officers who are given access to the eea management tool. Interviews are conducted according to eea checklists and recommendations for action are developed. At the end of this work package, an eea report is drafted, including an analysis of strengths and weaknesses and the preparation of the energy policy work programme. During the project period, an annual internal audit takes place (coordination, updating of the current status, updating of the energy policy work programme, preparation of a new action plan and 1-2 energy team meetings) and an internal audit report is prepared.

An energy policy work programme is drawn up on the basis of a workshop and the results (as-is analysis and/or action plan) are presented to the political body. If the requirements for successful certification are met, the continuous, annual programme work is supplemented by the preparation and implementation of the external audit.
