N/A (Saxony)

Project description

The town of Frohburg commissioned seecon Ingenieure to update the Frohburg landscape plan and to prepare an environmental report on the land use plan.

The study area covers approx. 11,000 ha and is predominantly characterised by large-scale agricultural use of varying intensity. In addition to the town of Frohburg, several small villages are located in the administrative community. With the Wyhra and Eula rivers, the plan area is crossed by two first-order watercourses; other watercourses and stillwaters are found along the villages and forests.

The area of the town of Frohburg is characterised by a high number of different protected areas. These include, among others: FFH area "Wyhraaue und Frohburger Streitwald", SPA area "Eschefelder Teiche", nature reserve "Prießnitz", landscape reserve "Kohrener Land" and a large number of natural monuments. A special feature of the area are the many orchards.

The update of the landscape plan will extend into 2014.
