Energy and Climate - 2287

EUROPEAN ENERGY AWARD (EEA) CITY OF MARKRANSTÄDT

Saxony (Germany)

Project description

Building on various activities in the field of energy efficiency and climate protection, the town of Markranstädt has decided to participate in the European Energy Award (eea). The eea is the programme for implementation-oriented climate protection policy in municipalities. It is process-oriented and serves to promote energy saving, the efficient use of energy and the increase in the use of renewable energies. In Markranstädt, the introduction of the eea has enabled various renewable energy projects to be realised. Energy savings in the area of municipal properties became possible and could be documented. The eea is the quality management system and certification procedure with which the city's climate protection activities are recorded, evaluated, planned, controlled and reviewed annually in order to be able to identify and use potentials for sustainable climate protection. The city's energy team is supported in the implementation by seecon engineers, who are listed as accredited eea consultants. The successes of the municipal energy work are not only documented, but were also awarded in 2010, 2014 and 2018.
