Background:
For the "green mobility turnaround", Deutsche Bahn has set itself the goal of doubling the number of ICE trains and passenger numbers! To ensure the future viability of rail transport, an efficient and modern infrastructure is required. Among other things, it is necessary to create additional ICE maintenance facilities for the maintenance and cleaning of the trains. Suitable areas must be found for these and their use approved within the framework of a regional planning procedure (ROV).
The project:
seecon accompanies the preparation of the regional planning procedure for the new ICE maintenance plant in the Nuremberg area on behalf of Prokonzept GmbH. The application documents for the ROV are being prepared and the application conference for the opening of the procedure is being held. A spatial impact study, an environmental impact study and a comprehensive nature conservation assessment are being carried out for the alternative sites under consideration. The project participants work together on the definition of evaluation criteria, which are then professionally examined and evaluated by seecon engineers for each site under consideration. The results are summarised in a technical report, which serves as the basis for the application for the ROV.
